Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Pawdot has no account and no server of its own. We don’t collect any data, and we can’t see your pets’ records.
- No sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party code.
- Records are stored on your iPhone and synced through your own iCloud account.
- Photos are turned into stickers on your iPhone.
- Files leave Pawdot only when you share or export them yourself.
What we collect
Nothing. Pawdot contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and no software from other companies. We don’t receive your pets’ names, records, photos, stickers, documents, or any information about how you use the app.
Where your records live
Pets, records, schedules, stickers, scanned documents and your settings are stored on your iPhone. If you’re signed in to iCloud, they also sync through your own iCloud account so they reach your other devices and survive a new iPhone. That storage belongs to your Apple Account and is run by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; Pawdot’s makers have no access to it. If you’re not signed in to iCloud, records stay on your iPhone only.
Photos and the camera
When you pick or take a photo, Pawdot finds your pet and cuts out the sticker on your iPhone. The original photo isn’t kept; only the sticker is saved. Pawdot asks for the camera to photograph your pet or scan a document, and for permission to add to your photo library only when you choose to save a sticker there.
Reminders
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. When your iCloud has something new, Apple sends the app a silent signal to fetch it; that signal doesn’t contain your records.
Sharing a home
If you invite someone to look after your pets with you, they see everything about the pets in that home, the name you typed, and the email address or phone number of each person’s Apple Account. This goes through Apple’s iCloud sharing, from your iCloud to theirs. Pawdot’s makers can’t see it, and you can remove a person or stop sharing at any time. A shared home also records until when its owner’s Pawdot Plus runs, so the app keeps working for the people who were invited.
An invitation is sent as a link to this website, so that someone who doesn’t have Pawdot yet sees a page explaining it. The invitation itself, and the names shown on that page, travel in the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers don’t send that part to a website, so neither we nor our host receive it.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Pawdot Plus, Apple processes the payment. Pawdot checks your subscription with Apple on your iPhone; nothing about it is sent to us or to anyone else, and we never see your payment details.
Widgets and stickers in Messages
Widgets and the sticker drawer in Messages read a copy of what they show from storage on your iPhone that only Pawdot can use. A sticker you send in Messages goes to the person you send it to, like any other message.
Sharing and export
A sticker, a PDF for the vet or a CSV file leaves Pawdot only when you share or export it yourself, and goes only where you send it.
Information from Apple
If you’ve chosen to share crash reports and app analytics with developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated information such as crash logs and how many people installed the app. It doesn’t identify you and doesn’t include your records. If you test Pawdot through TestFlight, the feedback you choose to send is shared with us.
This website and email
This website doesn’t use cookies or analytics. Like any website, the service that hosts it (Vercel) processes technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages, under its own privacy policy. If you email us, we get your address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply.
Deleting your data
You can delete an entry, a sticker or a whole pet in the app at any time. Deleting Pawdot removes what it stored on that iPhone. To remove what it stored in iCloud, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud and its storage, and choose Pawdot. Because we don’t hold any of your data, there’s nothing for us to delete on our side.
Health
Pawdot is a journal, not a medical service. It doesn’t give medical advice, and it doesn’t read from or write to the Health app.
Children
Pawdot doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
