How can we help?

Answers to common questions about Pawdot for iPhone.

Stickers

How do I make a sticker?

When you add a pet, choose a photo or take one. Pawdot finds your pet in the photo, cuts it out on your iPhone and adds the white sticker border. The photo itself isn’t kept, only the sticker.

For more stickers later, touch and hold the big sticker on their page and choose New Sticker from Photos or Take a Photo. Tap the sticker to open their sticker book.

It says “Couldn’t find your pet”.

The photo may be too dark, or your pet is partly hidden. Try one where they’re well lit, fully in the frame and stand out from the background. You can also start without a photo and add a sticker later.

How does the sticker book work?

Every sticker lands on the page for its month. Open a page to drag stickers where you like, and use Decorate to add washi tape, date stamps and decoration stickers. You can undo each change.

Reminders

I’m not getting reminders.

Open Pawdot’s Settings and look at Reminders › Notifications. If it says Off, tap Open Settings and allow notifications for Pawdot. A Focus on your iPhone can also silence them.

For a home that’s shared with you, check that “Reminders on this iPhone” is on in that home’s Sharing page. Each iPhone decides this for itself.

I forgot to tick something off yesterday. Is it lost?

Nothing counts as missed in Pawdot. Yesterday’s schedule simply goes away and today starts fresh. If something did happen and you want it on record, add it with + Add and set the time.

Your records and iCloud

Where are my records kept? Do I need an account?

There’s no Pawdot account. Records live on your iPhone and sync through your own iCloud account, so they follow you to a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account. Settings › Data › iCloud shows whether sync is on. If you’re not signed in to iCloud, records are saved on this iPhone only.

I have a new iPhone and my pets aren’t there yet.

Make sure the new iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud turned on, and leave Pawdot open on Wi-Fi for a few minutes. Stickers and photos take the longest to arrive.

How do I export my records?

Settings › Data › Export All Records (CSV) gives you everything as a spreadsheet file. Before the Vet shares its summary as a one-page PDF. Exporting stays available even if Pawdot Plus ends.

How do I change the weight unit or the currency?

Settings › Units. Pawdot uses one currency for every amount; changing it changes the symbol, not the numbers. Both choices follow you to your other devices through iCloud.

A pet has died, or has gone to a new home.

Open their profile, tap ··· and choose In Memory or Rehomed. Their page, records and stickers stay, and reminders stop. If you added a pet by mistake, Delete in the same menu removes them and everything about them; that can’t be undone, so export first if you’re unsure.

Sharing a home

How do I invite someone?
  1. Open Settings › Home › Sharing and tap Invite Someone.
  2. Send them the link, in Messages or any other way.
  3. They tap it on their iPhone. Pawdot opens and asks whether they’d like to join.

If they don’t have Pawdot yet, the link opens a page that tells them how to get it; once it’s installed they tap the link again. Their iPhone needs to be signed in to iCloud.

Each link is for one person and works for 7 days. Everyone in the home sees the same pets, records, reminders and stickers and can add to them; entries show who added them.

Does the person I invite have to pay?

No. Only the owner of the home needs Pawdot Plus. The people you invite use Pawdot for free.

How do I remove someone, or leave a home?

The owner can remove a person, or tap Stop Sharing, in the home’s Sharing page. If a home was shared with you, open it in Settings › Home and tap Leave This Home. The records stay with the owner; they’re removed from the iPhone of the person who left.

What can people in a shared home see about me?

The name you typed in Pawdot, and the email address or phone number of your Apple Account, which iCloud shows to the people in a shared home. Sharing goes from your iCloud to theirs; it never passes through us.

Pawdot Plus

What’s free, and what does Plus add?

One pet is free, with everything: reminders, vet visits, vaccines, documents, unlimited stickers and the sticker book, export and iCloud sync. Pawdot Plus adds more pets, sharing a home, widgets, stickers in Messages and holo borders. It’s $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year in the United States; prices vary by country or region.

How does the free trial work?

The yearly plan starts with 14 days free if you haven’t subscribed before. Pawdot shows the date the trial ends before you start it and, if notifications are allowed, reminds you two days before. Cancel any time before that date and you won’t be charged.

How do I cancel or change my plan?

In Pawdot, open Settings and tap Manage Subscription. Or open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What happens when Plus ends?

Nothing is locked away. Every record stays readable and exportable, and reminders keep ringing. Your first pet stays fully editable; the others become read-only until you renew.

I subscribed, but Pawdot doesn’t show Plus.

Open Settings › About and tap Restore Purchases, and check that the iPhone uses the Apple Account you subscribed with. In a home that’s shared with you, Plus comes from the owner’s subscription.

Outside the app

How do I add a widget?
  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen, then tap Edit and Add Widget.
  2. Search for Pawdot and pick a size.
  3. Touch and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget to choose a pet and what it shows.

On the Lock Screen: touch and hold, tap Customize, then add Pawdot below the clock. Widgets come with Pawdot Plus; without it, a widget shows the sticker.

How do I use their stickers in Messages?
  1. Open a conversation in Messages and tap +.
  2. Choose Pawdot. The first time it may be under More.
  3. Tap a sticker to send it, or touch and hold to peel it off and drop it on a message.

Each pet’s cover and their 48 most recent stickers are there. Sending them comes with Pawdot Plus.

About Pawdot

Which pets and languages does Pawdot support?

Pawdot is made for cats and dogs, on iPhone with iOS 26 or later, in English, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.

Can Pawdot tell me if my pet is sick?

No. Pawdot keeps a record of what you notice so you can tell your vet clearly. It doesn’t diagnose or recommend treatment; vaccine names and care intervals in the app are shortcuts for typing, not advice. Always ask your vet.
